"I specialize in custom abstract art and paintings, original wall sculpture, contemporary wall art, healthcare art, and commercial art installations for public healthcare hospitals and clinics, hotels and hospitality, corporate offices, and private spaces."
"Primarily working on commission, I enjoy collaborating with clients to create abstract paintings and sculpture that lead me to new ideas to create wall art installations, while complementing an existing space. My artwork has always focused on the natural cycles of the seasons and finding inspiration from nature's extraordinary colors, light and shadow. As I explore this idea, I have been intrigued with nature’s ever-changing textures, and I often try to depict how nature relates to ourselves."

Encaustic with photo collage paintings using photographs taken from the area near Faribault, Minnesota. Combining the mediums of painting and photography help me “connect with place” and sense the landscape using translucency of waxy layers. The method of Encaustic painting involves applying hot molten beeswax colored with pigment to a painting surface, which is then “fused” (melted) with a torch or heat gun. This creates a variety of surfaces with textured and transparent layers. Encaustic painting allows me a wide range of tools and the process of transparent layering.
I am a fiscal year 2026 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

"Women on Fire” is a Minneapolis-based collective of artists working with the medium of encaustic paint (molten beeswax, damar resin and pigment) dedicated to deepening their creative practice and fostering community through art. Established in October 2025, the group includes founding members Linda Maylish, Mary Pat Maracle, Lori Fowler, Sarajane Berg, Lynne Christensen, Jodi Reeb, and Kathleen Kvern, all united by a shared commitment to strengthening their creative practice and the local encaustic community. The group has gathered monthly for studio visits, shared learning, and informal critiques of work in progress.
The culmination of the first year of the Women on Fire collective is a planned exhibition featuring 3 - 9 works by each member artist entitled "Echoes of Nature".
The exhibition features a collection where creativity and nature intersect, capturing the textures, colors, and rhythms of expression. Through painting, wall sculpture and photography there is space for reflection, highlighting how natural elements and mindful observation shape the creative process.
